Reimagining Beuno’s Clas
At Clynnog Fawr in Arfon, on land given to him in perpetuity by a cousin to the King of Gwynedd, Beuno established not only a church but a Clas, an institution of the Celtic church that was both monastery and college.
A feature of Clynnog Fawr down the centuries has been the re-emergence of communities of prayer, learning and mission – from Beuno’s Clas, to the 11th century monastery, to the mediaeval collegiate church, to the 19th century school and then the 20th century ministry training college.
We are currently reimagining the Clas for our own times and are looking for people with a diversity of skills and experience and an interest in intentional Christian community who are up for the challenge of learning Welsh / helping others to learn the language. We hope to organise a residential in the near future for those interested in joining us.
Please get in touch if this resonates with you.
